Tony Ash
January 2, 2019

Investors looking for signs that the market volatility is preceding a weakening economy will be looking at the PMI statistic scheduled to be released on January 3.

The PMI has been strong throughout this bull market having been growing (over "50” index level) for 115 straight months. The November level of 59.5 was an increase from the 57.7 level in October.

Newer PostPMI came in at 54.1%, indicating slowing growth but still expansion. Cautious, but not devastating news.
Older PostRebalancing needs could cause blip in demand for Equities
